1. Keep a journal

Writing has always been known to be very therapeutic and proven way to clear your mind. Keeping a journal and writing about your feelings, thoughts or daily activities can keep you aware of how your inner self is feeling and can be a relief to all the thoughts you keep spinning in your head. Another advantage is that a year later you could look back at these journal entries and see just how much you’ve grown mentally.

2.Count your blessings

Although the world seems to be falling apart, believe it or not, you have a ton of things to be thankful for. Start with being thankful for the simple, but important things like your health, your home etc.. and you’ll realize that you have a lot of things that are very important that you usually take for granted.

3.Learn something new

Learning is a process and a journey that never stops. From birth till death we will continue to learn new skills and new lessons that will aid us in life. With all this free time, one should use their hours to learn something that interests them. Remember something that you’ve always wanted to learn but have never had the time or thought it was too random, well this is the time to learn that skill.

4. Read an inspiring book

If you’re lacking motivation and looking for some inspiration or you just love reading a good book, reading can help soothe the mind .Especially nowadays when the majority of our work has gone online, it’s nice to take a break from our screens and crack open and indulge in an interesting book. Reading inspirational stories can help you and give you that positive mindset you need.

5.Perfect your hobbies

Practice your hobbies and learn to do them better. Its always been known that it’s better to be a master in one area then to be a jack of all trades. So try to master a skill which you’re passionate about.

6.Teach and share your knowledge

Teaching your friends online or your family at home can be a great way to interact and give back at the same time. Teaching can be very fun when you know the material well and can also help you learn your concepts better.

7. Call your favorite people

Having a nice chat with your family, friends and loved ones that you cannot physically reach at this time is a great way to destress and talk about the things you love to the people who love and support you . You can get insight into your questions or just have a nice heart to heart. It’s definitely worth your time

8. Tell your affirmations

Saying daily affirmations about the things that you want to come into your life will give you more mental strength and hope to keep moving forward. Saying sentences as if they are already happening (in the present tense), will help you relax and assure your mind that you have control over your future.

9. Pray

Praying or surrendering to the universe is something we should always do but practice more especially in difficult times. It is essential to keeping your mind calm and free from worry if you believe that the universe will do its job and whatever happens, will happen for a reason.

10. Take some me-time

Taking some time in the day to just reflect and check in on your inner self is essential to having good mental health. Meditating, visualizing, or simply concentrating on your breathing are good ways to spend this time. You could also journal and write down your feelings. Do any activity that takes you to your happy place!

Most importantly don’t forget to enjoy a good movie, listen to some songs and laugh…….have fun!
